ACTUAL READERS COMMENTS

As with many first time authors, we write, and we fall in love with the stories we create and the people we’ve given life to who live inside those stories. We dream and desire a larger life for our new ‘friends’ and fantasize about other first time authors like JK Rowling, Stephanie Meyer, Christopher Paolini and Samantha Shannon. We love our work, yet one nagging question remains at the end of the day that we must answer before we can take the next step...

                                                                         Is it really any good?

In this early stage of hopeful self doubt we seek out second opinions and validation. Most of us do as I did and go to the closest source first, friends and family. They read our book(s) and say all manner of encouraging things and we nod and say the right things in reply. We feel better for the praise, but we don’t truly believe it, therefore we take the next logical step and post it online in a forum we trust. Here we seek to determine, with some level of unbiased certitude, if our hopes and dreams are merely pipe dreams or if they are deserving of a wider life than just the heart and soul which gave them birth. I briefly posted an early version of my series on Bookrix.com for this purpose. In short order I had all the validation I needed.  Below are a few reader comments on the Believing Magic series viewable on Bookrix.com:

Ummm. I read a lot, but never has a book kept me outside in freezing weather, gripping the edge of my seat as an unending chain of smokes dangles from my trembling teeth. I have laughed and cried and loved and died along with the characters you so richly brought to life and as corny as it sounds, I feel changed. Thank You for the best week and a half of late nights in a long time. I am 'praying' that Garden of Wrath is not the last in the series, because I am surely addicted, and having just finished the last page of the fourth book, I am already feeling the withdrawal.

A Piece of my Soul. Dear Reader - This book has cost me a lot. For countless hours it has literally consumed my existence. That time and that part of 'me' has not vanished into thin air, it has simply moved onto a page where I shaped that part of myself with loving hands into 'Friends'. I sympathize. I have been trapped before my keyboard, up sometimes all night long as these people lived their lives, first in me, and now - in you. I hold duel residency. A part of me lives in Amen Hale. I have more friends there than here.

I’m about to start the 6th book and i have to say I’m kinda sad about it, i have been able to lose my self in ur books over the last few weeks and I hate to know its coming to an end. Every time I think there is no way u can make me want to be at Amen Hale myself u do, and the way u have incorporated the real world into the story makes it so much better. Please, please take down my email XXXXXXXX and please, please let me know as soon as ur books are ready to be sold, id love to be one of the first to buy the entire set.Ok here I go jumping into the last book, thank u so much for the entertainment ur bookshave brought me, I’ve actually got my coworker reading the series as well, I love coming to relieve her from work she is just now on the first book and so excited to talk about it every time I come in!!!!! AGIAN THANK U
